| Description: WORLD PREMIERE: This is my 16th original show, and I am holding nothing back. I’ve hired a film composer to write all the music, which is especially important for the action sequences. This show is pure entertainment. Andrew has written a play rich with romance, high-stakes action, and the struggle of good versus evil, all punctuated by great comedic relief. I’ve wanted to create an original Zorro production ever since I started the Maverick. The tale of Zorro is deeply rooted in Southern California history—in fact, his origins are here in Orange County at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, during the earliest years of California statehood. It was a time when the land was lush and prosperous, but still very much apart of the wild west. Law and order was often left in the hands of the powerful who could be corrupt. Against this backdrop, Zorro’s mark emerged as a symbol of resistance, justice, and hope. We all love heroes who rise to meet their moment and save the day, so come and audition for what promises to be a thrilling, adventurous, fun production. — Brian |
